This loss comes less than a year after another painful experience for Mercy Aigbe. In December 2024, her home was gutted by fire. She shared a video of the destruction on Instagram, writing, “Devastated! Thank God no life was lost! It is well.” The cause of the fire was never disclosed.
Mercy Aigbe, known for her roles in Yoruba and English Nollywood movies, premiered her film “Thin Line” shortly after that incident on December 10, 2024, in Lagos, at an event attended by top actors including Iyabo Ojo and Uzor Arukwe.
Fans and industry colleagues continue to flood her page with messages of comfort as she mourns the passing of her mother.
