Nigerian Gay activist, Bisi Alimi, took to his social media pages to admonish and advice Nigerians on the meningitis outbreak.

Alimi, who urged Nigerians against opting for religious solutions, courted controversy when he shared a video of Pastor Enoch Adeboye urging members of his congregation to come for anointing.

“Please anointing oil and holy water will not cure or prevent you from the disease,” Alimi posted on social media.

“Vaccines is the only way to be cure and be protected. Please get everyone in your household vaccinated as soon as possible. Thank you.”

Several Nigerians, however, took offence with his use of Adeboye’s video, especially as he did not ask congregants to come for anointing because of meningitis. Some people, however, came to Alimi’s defence.
