Mavin Records has distanced itself from Lotanna Harry, declaring that he is neither an employee, agent nor authorised representative of the music company.
According to Mavin Records, Harry has never been appointed or authorised to act on its behalf. Moreover, the label warns members of the public against entertaining any communication or representation from him suggesting otherwise.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the said Lotanna Harry is not an agent, representative or authorized intermediary of Mavin,” the company said.
Mavin also denied any affiliation with the Record Label Access Network, RLAN. Harry has described RLAN as an independent platform connecting artistes with record labels and other music industry professionals.
Mavin warns public against unauthorised dealings
The label urged anyone who may have been approached by Harry over alleged representation of Mavin or requests for money to come forward with evidence.
“We further invite any person who may have had dealings with, or who may have been approached by, the said individual in circumstances involving purported misrepresentation or unauthorized solicitation of funds. We invite you to come forward and provide any relevant evidence,” Mavin said.
The company said evidence could include receipts, payment records, correspondence, conversations and other documentation linked to payment requests.
Mavin reveals earlier police petition
Mavin also released documents. These showed that its lawyers had previously petitioned the Nigeria Police Force Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi, Lagos. The petition was over allegations involving Harry.
The July 3, 2025 petition accused him of identity theft, criminal misrepresentation, defrauding and obtaining by false pretence.
The company alleged in the petition that about N30 million had been obtained from upcoming artistes. This was done through purported promises of connecting or signing them to Mavin Records.
The allegations have not been independently established in court.
Mavin said its previous relationship with Harry was limited to appearances as a paid model in some of its videos. These appearances were on a subcontract basis.
Harry had earlier maintained that he does not work for Mavin as an employee or management representative. He described RLAN as an independent platform which features several record labels for visibility and industry opportunities.
Mavin, however, maintained that neither Harry nor RLAN is authorised to represent the company or conduct transactions on its behalf.
