South African music producer, Master KG of Jerusalema fame has won the Best Africa Act award at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Other acts in the category include Rema (Nigeria), Sheebah (Ugandan) and Gaz Mawete (DRC).
Master KG’s win ended the four-year dominance of the category by Nigerian music artists.
The Nigerians who won the category in the last four years are Wizkid (2016), Davido (2017), Tiwa Savage (2018) and Burna Boy (2019).
Giving his acceptance speech, Master KG said:
“I would love to thank my sister Nomcebo, my team Open Mic Productions, and everyone who has supported Master KG, thank you so much. To all my fans all over the world, without you this would have not been possible.”
