The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra has cautioned President Bola Tinubu not to depend on recent political assurances from Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo and certain Igbo leaders ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued by MASSOB leader Uchenna Madu, the group insisted that those making such pledges do not reflect the genuine will of the Igbo populace.

“MASSOB wishes to inform Mr President that these individuals do not represent the true will of the Igbo people and that their influence will not translate into genuine voter support,” the statement read in part.

The group emphasized that it is crucial for the President to understand the sentiments and aspirations of the Igbo grassroots, rather than relying on prominent political figures whose views may not align with the broader community.

“MASSOB is reminding President Bola Tinubu that the Southeast region will not support his bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election because your administration has neglected our region, leading to significant pain, agony, and feelings of marginalization among our people,” the group added.

It further criticized the federal government’s perceived lack of attention to the Southeast and expressed disappointment in the current administration’s handling of issues affecting the region.

“MASSOB laments that the Southeast region deserves better representation and attention from the federal government, and we believe that the current administration has failed to address the needs and concerns of the Ndigbo,” the statement continued.

The group also took aim at Governor Soludo, accusing him of erasing the legacy of the late Biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, from the All Progressives Grand Alliance and Anambra State.

MASSOB reaffirmed that the Southeast’s choice for the 2027 presidential election would be determined by the will of the people rather than individual political endorsements, stating that grassroots consensus will play the decisive role.
