Renowned martial arts star, Jet Li, has got his fans worried after a photograph of him looking very old and pale went viral online.
In the photograph, the 55-year-old actor looked like a shadow of his former self when he made a rare outing in Tibet a few days ago.
Li, who has been long known for his youthful looks and acrobatic moves spanning decades of action movies, is reportedly battling hyperthyroidism, a condition that can cause fatigue and weight loss.
The South China Morning Post reported on Saturday that fans were “praying for his health” after the emergence of the photo, which the SCMP said was taken at a temple in Tibet and has been widely shared.
Responding to speculations on the status of the actor’s health, Li’s manager, Steven Chasman, on Monday said, “it was just a bad photo of someone who is 55 years old.”
Chasman, who spoke to Washington Post said,
“He has hyperthyroidism that he’s been dealing with for almost 10 years. It’s nothing life-threatening and he’s dealing with it.”
