Mariah Carey and her longtime partner, Bryan Tanaka, have reportedly called it quits after seven years of being together.

The “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer and her backup dancer boyfriend started dating in 2016, but recent reports suggest that the relationship has ended.

According to sources close to the couple, the breakup occurred due to different life goals.

The 40-year-old Tanaka reportedly expressed a desire to start a family, a goal not aligned with the 54-year-old Mariah Carey’s current life priorities.

The age difference of 14 years between them was also cited as a contributing factor to their separation.

“He wants to have a family. That’s not where she is at,” the source revealed.

Speculations about their breakup began when Tanaka stopped attending Carey’s Merry Christmas One and All! tour in the middle of November.

Social media users also noticed the couple’s absence from important events and a decline in their social media presence.

Tanaka’s absence during Carey’s vacation in Aspen, a departure from their usual joint holiday trips over the past seven years, added fuel to the breakup rumors.

The singer had hinted at a challenging year during an interview with People earlier this month, saying, “I’ve been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year. Since last year — because last year wasn’t the greatest. I’m thankful for them all, but it wasn’t my most fun version of Christmas ever.”

This isn’t the first time the couple faced challenges. They briefly broke up in 2017 but later reconciled.
