Twitter Nigeria is presently buzzing as users debate who their favourite social media comedian is among Gloria Oloruntobi aka Maraji, Emmanuel Iwueke aka Craze Clown, Sydney Talker and Taaoomaa.

All the four comedians on the list have amassed hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram and Twitter and Facebook with their comedy skits. Maraji, however, stands out with over a million Instagram followers.

While Taaooma and Sydney Talker are relatively new in the game, Maraji and Craze Clown have dominated the scene for a long time, and Maraji still remains relevant despite a large number of social media comedians now competing for the attention of netizens.

Maraji, a graduate of Covenant University plays the role of multiple personalities in her skits, while Craze Clown a medicine graduate, plays Papa Ade and portrays the typical African father trying to instil morals in his son through harsh punishment.

Taaooma, on the other hand, portrays an African mum who often punishes her daughter whenever she makes errors.

Sydney Talker’s skits are centered around daily happenings in Nigeria. But in recent times he has attracted backlashes with his skits which some social media users say promotes sexual harassment.

Some social media have, however, said one important name seems to be missing on the list and that it Twyse of the Taofeek comedy fame.

Twyse is a creative video editor and comedian who also uses one personality in multiple forms to tell his comic stories.

While Twitter users are debating who their favourite comedian is among the listed names, popular Nigerian TV host Denrele Edun has waded into the argument and shared his opinion.
