Manchester United jersey saves Taxify driver from being beaten in Lagos
Some Nigerian football fans have shared a rare story of how putting on the jersey of their favourite European football clubs saved them from several offences on Lagos highway.
One of the football fans said he was freed after driving against traffic, while another said a Taxify driver was saved from being beaten by another driver because he was putting on a Manchester United jersey.
A Twitter user had shared his experience via his handle @Boogeythat.
He wrote
“Taxify guy hits another guy’s car from behind, huge guy comes out ready to whoop ass, sees his jersey and says “God save you say you be Man U fan” then gets in and drives off. Football just saved a life.“
Reacting to the tweet, another Twitter user @Ifedotunxii wrote,
“Beat Traffic light once on Herbert Macaulay and the LASTMA guy said leave am he dey rush go watch ball. Never been so relieved.”
Other social media who have also had related experience, also shared how they have enjoyed some benefits by using the insignia of their football clubs.
