Manchester City are ready to make a shock move for Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham, according to a Le10Sport report.

The England international’s contract talks with Frank Lampard’s side have reportedly stalled because of his wage demands.

Pep Guardiola’s side are ready to swoop for the highly-rated 22-year-old.

It is understood that Manchester City are looking to open discussions with Abraham in the coming months.

Abraham, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, is under contract with Lampard’s side until June 2022.

But the club are keen to tie him down with a new long-term deal following his impressive spell of form.

The four-cap England international has scored 14 goals and made four assists for Lampard’s side this term.

It is understood that he is after the same £180,000-a-week salary as team-mate Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Chelsea have already secured deals for Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Billy Gilmour.

And the Blues will have to splash the cash if they are to convince Abraham to sign on the dotted line.

Lampard recently praised the 22-year-old for his impressive start to the Premier League season.

He said:

“He’s a personality that’s growing in our dressing room every day with his enthusiasm and his will to win.

“Tammy is a striker that’s near the top of the goalscoring charts in the league, he’s showing his all-round game, stretches defences, and he starts our press.”
