The position of Anthony Martial has become shaky in the Manchester United under coach Jose Mourinho.

There are fears that he is not showing enough commitment to the game and several people has urged the forward to step up his game.

Former United player, Gary Neville also joined in urging Anthony Martial not to waste his talent and to ‘show his love for the game’ on Thursday.

The Manchester United forward has endured a difficult time under manager Jose Mourinho after being one of the Reds’ leading lights for Louis van Gaal last season.

Mourinho dropped him from his squad against Stoke last weekend and on Wednesday reiterated his stance on the Frenchman, saying he has to grab his chance when it comes.

The United boss previously warned Martial to listen to him rather than his agent, who is believed to be unhappy with his client’s situation at Old Trafford.

Sky TV pundit and former United defender Neville has backed Mourinho, saying via his Twitter account: “He’s only achieving a very small part of his potential.

“He ranges from sensational to disinterested.

“He has the talent to become a very special player. He needs to show his love for the game and display that in his performances.”

Mourinho had already offered his take on Martial’s predicament, saying of his performance against Liverpool almost a fortnight ago: “I think he just didn’t catch with both hands a big opportunity he had.

“We have still five players for these positions. I cannot give to one player chances to play and kill the others. I cannot give to the same player chance after chance after chance and not consider the effort of the others.

“I have to take people out of the team. That’s simple.”

Martial is available for selection for Thursday night’s EFL Cup semi-final against Hull.
