Manchester United defender, Alex Telles has tested negative for COVID-19, the Brazil Football Confederation has since confirmed on Tuesday.

Telles who is on international duty with Brazil reportedly came back positive for a second time over the weekend having been out with the virus since he played for United in the 2-1 win at PSG in October.

The former Porto defender will now be available for Brazil’s World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay in Montevideo on Tuesday.

“The defender already had the disease, was asymptomatic and with a non-transmissible condition of the virus, but he could not travel to Uruguay,” an update from the Brazilian Football Confederation read.

“On the last exam, however, Telles’ test came back negative and the defender was released for the game.”
