Manchester United have been boosted by the return of Scott McTomminay and Alex Telles ahead of a crucial two-week fixture in all competitions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men would play five matches in the space of two weeks beginning with this Sunday’s trip to West Ham in the Premier League.

The Hammers face United again, this time at Old Trafford on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup third round.

United face Aston Villa three days late at M16 in the EPL on Saturday before a crucial Champions League clash with Villarreal and another league fixture, this time against Everton at the Theatre of Dreams, before the second international break of the campaign kicks in.

McTominay and Telles were both pictured working at the training ground with their teammates at Carrington on Thursday.

The Scot last played for the Red Devils’ opening two league games, against Leeds and Southampton, but has spent the last three weeks recovering from surgery on a minor groin issue.

Telles, on the other hand, has been out since July after an ankle injury during the training camp in Surrey and he hasn’t featured since the pre-season friendly at Derby in the same month.

The pair would be evaluated by Solskjaer and his staff in the hope they can be available for match duty in the coming weeks, the club said.

Solskjaer told the club website: “Scott and Alex have joined in training this morning fully. They look good,” Solskjaer told club media.

“Of course we need to have them go through a few sessions before we can consider if they’re going to be available.”

Meanwhile, striker, Edinson Cavani who has only featured once as a sub this season is also expected to be back soon, after Sunday’s game at the London Stadium.

The Uruguayan has only managed to get 37 minutes under his belt so far this season, but is set to resume work on Monday, according to Solskjaer.
