Former Manchester United star, Paul Scholes, has said both Manchester clubs looked like they wanted the Premier League season to end quickly after their dull 0-0 draw on Sunday.
The second Manchester derby of the season, played at Old Trafford, ended without any goals and very little excitement.
Both Manchester United and Manchester City are currently struggling, and the poor form showed in their performance. The first half was slow, with just one shot on target each from both teams. Although the second half saw a slight improvement, fans were left disappointed by the lack of action and energy.
Speaking after the match, Scholes criticised the performance of both teams, saying there was no real desire to win.
“Neither side did anywhere near enough to win the game. Manchester City had nice possession, Manchester United on the counter-attack had half-chances,” he said.
“Other than that, it feels like both sides need the Premier League to end pretty quickly,” Scholes added.
The result leaves Manchester United in 13th place, while Manchester City remain fifth on the table.
