Manchester United and France football legend, Patrice Evra, paid was left impressed after his visit to the popular Oshodi underbridge in Lagos State on Saturday.e
After spending days in Senegal, Evra flew into Nigeria for his first visit to th African country in honour of the Chess in Slums initiative by founder, Tunde Onakoya, for less privileged children.
Onakoya had on Thursday told his followers of a surprise visit by a mystery Man Utd legend via his Twitter page.
“A Manchester United legend/former captain and a UEFA Champions League winner will be coming to play Chess against some of the kids in our academy at Oshodi underbridge. Can you guess who it is?” Onakoya tweeted.
However, it was Evra who put Nigerians out of their misery when he announced that Nigeria would be his next stop after departing Senegal.
“Breaking news! Evra bus stop will stop in Nigeria for the first time ever,” Evra announced.
However, after his visit to the popular Oshosi underbridge, Evra was left impressed by the young lads with who he played the beautiful game of chess.
He tweeted, “Checkmate ♟ Evra bus stop #Nigeria! I’m soo impressed by those genius kids.”
