Manchester United has promoted 16-year-old Danish forward, Chido Obi-Martin, to the first team as their third-choice striker.

This comes after the club’s current strikers, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund, have struggled to find consistent form this season.

According to a post by football journalist Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday, Obi-Martin is expected to see some playing time during the current campaign.

This decision is seen as a response to United’s offensive struggles, with Zirkzee scoring only one Premier League goal in six matches.

Obi-Martin gained attention in November 2023 when he scored 10 goals in a single match for Arsenal’s U16 team during a 14-3 win over Liverpool. Last season, the Denmark U17 international netted 32 goals in 24 appearances at youth level for Arsenal and even trained with their first team.

With Manchester United’s attack in need of fresh options, Obi-Martin could bring a new spark to the squad. Fans are eager to see how the young talent performs as he gets his chance at senior-level football.
