A 34-year-old man has been handed a lengthy prison sentence for sexually assaulting two children in the United States.

James Pinker from the state of Colorado, will spend at least 112 years behind bars for his crimes.

The Weld County District Attorney’s Office in Colorado announced on Monday, September 9, that Pinker was sentenced on August 30 by a local judge.

The severity of the sentence reflects the gravity of Pinker’s offences, which occurred in December 2021.

According to authorities, Pinker assaulted two young girls who were playing in a relative’s home.

The victims reported that Pinker initiated a “kissing game” with them.

The District Attorney’s statement described the children’s account: “When asked what the ‘kissing’ game was, the victims said the defendant would put his mouth on their ‘privates’ and made them take their clothes off.”

The court found Pinker guilty on four counts of sexual assault on a child with a pattern of abuse.

During the sentencing hearing, additional allegations emerged from a 17-year-old girl who testified that Pinker had abused her when she was younger.

Deputy District Attorney Timothy McCormack, who prosecuted the case, stated that there were “several young children” whom Pinker had abused.

He emphasised the devastating impact of Pinker’s actions, saying, “The defendant’s actions were not only heinous, but he shattered the innocence and lives of several young children. This sentence reflects the gravity of his crimes and the justice deserved for his victims.”
