A 29-year-old man, Adeola Yusuf, who posed as a customer and allegedly stole printing inks cartridges worth N355,000, on Thursday appeared before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court sitting at Tinubu, Lagos State.
Yusuf, whose residential address was not provided, is facing trial on a charge of stealing preferred against him by the police.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Ajaga Agbako, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between February 3 and March 7, at Prince Ebeano Supermarket, at Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State.
According to him, Yusuf stole two Epson 103 ink, valued at N90,000; two HP 62 XL TRI – colour ink, worth N96,000; three HP 653 TRI-colour, worth N84,000; two 935 magenta worth N80,000 and one HP ink 901 TRI colour valued at N500.
The prosecutor said the total amount of the items stolen was N355,000, property of Prince Ebeano Supermarket.
According to him, the offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
The Magistrate, Mr T. O. Babalola, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He said that the sureties must be gainfully employed, provide means of identification and show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
Babalola adjourned the case until April 13, for mention.
