A 24-year-old man, Tope Moses, on Thursday appeared in an Ifetedo Magistrates’ Court over alleged theft of four kegs of palm oil worth N40,000.
The Prosecution Counsel, Cpl. Gbenga Dauda told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Sept 8, 2020, around 1.30 a.m. at Omisore Village, via Garage Olode in Ifetedo, Ife South Local Government.
Dauda said that the defendant conspired with others, at large.
He alleged that the defendant also stole N25,000, cash, the property of Mrs Comfort Olabisi.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 411 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002 and 2003 respectively.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Defence Counsel, P.O. Oyeboade applied for bail for his client in the most Liberal term.
Magistrate Adekanmi Adeyeba admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adeyeba ordered that the sureties must swear to an affidavit of means and reside within the court jurisdiction.
The magistrates adjourned the case until Oct 8, hearing.
