A 50-year-old man has been exiled for 20 years from the Obohia Community in Amuda Isuochi, Umunneochi LGA of Abia State over alleged witchcraft.
Daily Trust reported that the disgraced individual identified, Obioma Ubani, was accused of the death of one Prof Chike Ubani.

The quinquagenarian was also accused of being behind the misfortunes of some male youths, as well as some young girls whose suitors have reported absconded after approaching them for marriage.

Reports revealed that Ubani was denied the opportunity to defend himself as villagers chased him out of the village with only a plastic bag while his body was dressed with fresh palm fronds.

Although some sympathisers were displeased by the manner in which Ubani was disgraced out of the village, a youth simply identified as Uche claimed that more suspected ‘evil men’ in Obohia may face the same music as Obioma unless they repented.

A condition (land cleansing) has however been set for the community should Ubani decide to return to the village after the expiration of his exile in the next 20 years.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abia State Police Command, Mr Geoffrey Ogbonna said he is yet to be brief on the matter.
