A man in his 60s passed away during a baptism ceremony that was being live-streamed on Facebook.

A 46-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in connection with the case.

The incident took place at a private address in Birmingham, UK. The baptism was reportedly conducted by the Life Changing Ministries on Sunday, October 8.

Medical staff at the scene tried to save the man’s life, but their efforts were in vain.

“A woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a man in his 60s died in Erdington on Sunday”

“A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of the man’s death, while detectives carry out inquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death.

“A 46-year-old woman who was arrested in Birmingham yesterday has been released on police bail while inquiries continue,” local police said while confirming the arrest.

The ceremony was believed to be live-streamed on Facebook, but the post has since been removed from the church’s page.

An hour-long message posted on the church’s Facebook page the day after the incident mentioned that the man had traveled over 300 miles to be baptized.

He had been a member of the church for four years and was living with Parkinson’s disease.

While his baptism was the first one on that Sunday, others were conducted afterward.
