Manchester City have signed a new kit deal with German sportswear company Puma worth a reported £1 billion over 10 years, making it the biggest kit partnership in Premier League history.
British media reported that the deal will see City earn £100 million per year until 2035, an increase from the previous £65 million per year deal agreed in 2019. This new figure surpasses Manchester United’s £90 million per year deal with Adidas signed in 2023.
City Football Group chief executive Ferran Soriano said the partnership with Puma had exceeded expectations since it began six years ago. He said, “We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond the expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons.”
Puma chief executive Arthur Hoeld also praised the collaboration, saying, “Puma’s partnership with Manchester City has been a great success both on and off the pitch. Trophies, a perfect stage for our performance products and commercial success were exceptional.”
Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to have kit deals worth more than £100 million per year, keeping them at the top of European football’s commercial deals.
The record-breaking deal comes after a disappointing season for City, who finished third in the Premier League and lost the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace. They were also eliminated from the Club World Cup in the last 16 by Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia.
