It was one of the best outings for Nigerian music at the last MTV Africa Music Awards held at the weekend.
Nigeria’s Wizkid, who got the highest nomination for the awards held in South Africaalso won the most awards. He won three categories, including Artist of the Year, Best Male and Best Collaboration, out of the total of six nomination.
Yemi Alade won the Best Female category while while Tekno won the Best Breakthrough Act award ahead of Falz and Simi.

Somehow, the Personality of the Year category that may have pitted two Nigerians, Wizkid and Linda Ikeji did not go to any of them at the event. The award went to Caster Semenya, the South African Olympic gold medalist. It had been predicted that the category may be difficult to judge because of the records of the personalities involved.
