A house maid attempting to flee with her employers two children into another country has been arrested at the border.

The help, 32-year-old Scovia Namataka, abducted the children – age eight and four – from Nairobi, the Kenyan capital.

The minors, who detectives said had been left in the custody of the housegirl, were rescued by officers at the Busia border.

Namataka had attempted to move the children into Uganda in a bus when she was intercepted.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the offence was committed while the children’s parents had travelled to Meru to attend a kin’s burial.
