Luis Enrique declines comment on Mbappé’s future

Published

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique refrained from commenting on the reports suggesting Kylian Mbappé will depart the club at the end of the season during a press conference on Friday.

Following ESPN’s report that Mbappé intends to leave PSG when his contract expires, with Real Madrid being a likely destination, reporters pressed Luis Enrique for his thoughts. However, the PSG manager opted not to provide any comments on Mbappé’s potential departure.

“I can’t say anything,” Luis Enrique responded when asked about Mbappé’s future.

When questioned about Mbappé’s commitment for the remainder of the season, Luis Enrique reiterated his stance of not engaging in the discussion until both parties involved make public statements.

“The parties involved haven’t yet said anything publicly, Kylian Mbappé hasn’t said anything publicly. When both parties speak, I will give my opinion,” Luis Enrique stated firmly.

Despite the persistent inquiries about Mbappé, Luis Enrique maintained focus on PSG’s upcoming match against Nantes, emphasizing that the training atmosphere remained normal and unaffected by the speculation surrounding Mbappé’s future.

While speculation continues to swirl around Mbappé’s potential move, sources close to Real Madrid indicate that the player has yet to respond to the reported offer. However, they remain hopeful of securing his signature soon.

In response to the ongoing discussions about Mbappé, Luis Enrique expressed confidence that the situation would not disrupt PSG’s season. He acknowledged the inevitable scrutiny surrounding a club like PSG but emphasized the need to manage rumors and maintain focus on their objectives.

Meanwhile, Sevilla coach Quique Sanchez Flores weighed in on Mbappé’s future, expressing his anticipation for Mbappé to join La Liga and predicting that the French star could reach new heights, potentially winning the Ballon d’Or, especially if he moves to Real Madrid.
