LOVED BY MATURE AUDIENCE! Why I settled for Juju music – Tayo Mix
Temitayo Fadoju, better known as Tayo Mix is determined to make an impact on the Nigerian juju music scene.
Raised in the United Kingdom, he told Saturday Beats that he had come to understand that juju music though loved by a mature audience needs young artistes to sustain its tradition.
He stated,
“Juju music is loved by most Nigerians, but in recent times, I noticed that people were not paying attention to the fact that big players in the industry need youthful succession. I have decided to make the genre of music popular among Nigerians like it used to be. My music is called ‘juju spicy’ and I created this music to give a good vibe to everyone who listens to it.”
He revealed that juju music was highly appreciated in the UK despite the language barrier.
“In the UK, I use my music to impact a lot of young people and they love me for who I am. Nigerian music is loved in the UK. Last year April, my album launch was one of the biggest events among Nigerians in the UK. The likes Sunny Melody, Yinka Ekundayo and a many other Nigerian indigenous singers came for it.”
Tayo Mix’s recently released album, Prelude, contains four songs. According to him, the album is doing well in the UK but he has just introduced to it to the Nigerian market. With time, he believes Nigerians would get to listen to his album and they would appreciate his effort in ensuring that juju music never dies.
