London-to-Lagos: Pelumi Nubi opens up on corruption at African borders

The new ambassador of Lagos tourism and solo driver from London to Lagos, Pelumi Nubi has said that she faced challenges while crossing the borders of African countries.

This she said during an interview session on Arise TV.

Pelumi stated that she faced more challenges in crossing West African borders unlike the European country borders.

Replying to the question about the challenge she faced at the Liberian border, she said; “I had lots of challenges crossing the west African borders because of my right hand car.

“I didn’t face any challenge crossing the European borders because most of the countries there have worked around not having a physical border unlike Africa.

“I had to start explaining to them about what the law says and was asked to pay for things that were not legal even though there were receipts for it.

 

“There were lots of corruption too.” she stated.

She stated that one of the reasons she embarked On the journey was to show the strength and resilience of achieve great things.

Pelumi embarked on her Solo trip from London in January and finally arrived in Lagos on Sunday, 7th of April to cheering applause from the Lagos state government, her family and fans.
