Pelumi Nubi, a 28-year-old media personality, received a triumphant welcome as she finally arrived in Lagos on Sunday after embarking on a solo drive from London, United Kingdom, a journey spanning 68 days.
Nubi, known for her content creation, had previously announced her ambitious plan to drive from London to Lagos months ago. Despite encountering challenges along the way, including a temporary halt due to an accident, she persevered and successfully completed her journey.
Representatives from the Lagos State Government, including the Commissioner of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Idris Aregbe, welcomed Pelumi at the Nigerian-Benin Republic border on behalf of the state.
After making her second stop in Badagry, Pelumi proceeded to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) to celebrate her homecoming.
Expressing her joy and gratitude, Pelumi shared her feelings with Channels TV, saying, “I feel so good to be home. Honestly, the homecoming has been so amazing, really welcoming. Honestly, Nigeria is definitely home to me, so it’s more than amazing. I expected the homecoming, but this has been incredible, so thank you so much, I am really grateful, and I can’t wait for the celebration that is waiting for me at UNILAG.”
