Diego Llorente was the hero of the night for Leeds after they forced Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Ellan Road on Monday night.

The draw was a huge blow to Jurgen Klopp’s hope of securing a Champions League ticket ahead of next season’s competition.

Liverpool controlled the game in the first half and were rewarded at the break after Alexander-Arnold teed up Sadio Mane for a tap-in.

Mane scored his first goal in the league (31′) since January to send the defending champions to fourth place on the log with goal difference ahead of West Ham.

The Reds, however, allowed Marcelo Bielsa’s men to find their way back into the game at the death.

Llorente headed in his first Leeds goal from a corner with three minutes to play to spare Bielsa’s blushes at the detriment of Klopp’s side who drop back to 6th with one point behind Chelsea.

According to OptaJoe Stats, Liverpool have dropped 13 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season, two more than they had across their last two campaigns combined (6 in 2018-19, 5 in 2019-20).

Leeds have both scored and conceded 50 Premier League goals in 32 games this season – only Tottenham in 2007-08 (30 games) have done so in fewer matches in the competition.
