Liverpool’s Alisson Becker is set to miss the Reds’ next two fixtures after picking up an injury prior to Tuesday night’s Champions League game with Ajax.

The Brazillian shot-stopper was out of action during Liverpool’s 1-0 win last night after picking up a suspected hamstring injury before the game.

Speaking during his pre-match interview with told BT Sport, Klopp revealed that the Brazillian is not out with the virus. “It is not Covid,” he said.

“That is something we have to mention when it is not the case, and it is not the case. He told us after the game [against Brighton] he felt his hamstring in the 60th or 70th minute.

“A little one but enough for today and probably for another week, we will have to wait and see. I have never heard of a hamstring that is only four or five days so it will be 10 to 14 days, I think.”

Alisson joins the long list of injury absentees for Klopp’s side including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri, James Milner, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Thiago Alcantara.

Klopp’s men will face Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday and Mitdjyland in the Champions League next week.
