Lionel Messi breaks Xavi’s Barcelona record after Sociedad win

Argentine star, Lionel Messi, has broken Xavi Hernandez’s record at Barcelona following his brilliant performance against Real Sociedad on Sunday night.
The six-time Ballon d’Or winner is now the player with the most games for Barca, 768, one more than Xavi.

Messi who is Barca’s all-time highest goal scorer with over 690 goals broke Xavi’s record in grand style after he helped the Blaugrana to a 6-1 thumping of Real Sociedad at the Anoeta stadium.

He netted a brace and produced an assist on the night as Barca moved to 62 points, four points behind league leaders, Atletico Madrid after nine consecutive league wins.

Now, the No.10 can boast of being the Barça player with the most goals, most games, most titles and most wins in the club’s 121-year history.
