Lekki Shooting: We must know those who ordered, killed innocent Nigerians – Dino Melaye
Former senator, Dino Melaye has called for the exposure of those who ordered the “killing of Nigerians” as well as the soldiers who carried out the shooting at the Lekki Toll Gate.
Recall that security operative in military uniform on Tuesday, Oct 20 shot at protesters at the toll gate after two weeks of #EndSARS protests.
The military, on Tuesday, said that the Lagos State Government called in the soldiers but denied shooting or killing any protester. This statement comes a week after labelling the video placing soldiers on the scene of the incident as false.
Reacting on Wednesday on his official Twitter account, Melaye who represented the Kogi West Senatorial district in the 8th Nigerian National Assembly, said that those found guilty must be punished duly.
“We must know those who ordered the killing of Nigerians and those who actually killed innocent Nigerians at Lekki toll gate. They must face the full weight of the Law. No rest till Justice is seen to be done.”

Meanwhile, Sanwo-Olu has set up a panel to investigate the incident which he previously blamed on a higher force beyond him.
According to reports, at least 15 people were reportedly killed during the shooting but at the time of this report, no corpse has been found.
Reports claimed that the bodies were taken away by the soldiers in the vans.
