Leeds’ Bamford nets hattrick to end Aston Villa’s unbeaten run

Published

Leeds United have shattered Aston Villa’s unbeaten run with a 3-0 win away win at the Villa Park on Friday night.

Patrick Bamford netted a second-half hattrick, to give Marcelo Bielsa’s team the three points they deserved for their relentless performance.

An end-to-end encounter in the first half saw Leeds cuff out 10 shots but sadly managed to get just one on target as Leeds came close to scoring through Bamford after Jack Grealish had almost given the home side the lead earlier.

Bamford would late repay Biesla’s fate in the second half as he got his first-ever Premier League hattrick against the Villans.

The 27-year-old Englishman stole the shoe and the ball with his goals in the 55th, 67th and 74th minutes, including two sublime finishes after the first goal.

The away team, after the final whistle, managed a total of 27 attempts and nine shots on target, scoring three.
