American basketball player, LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, has made NBA history by becoming the first father-son duo to play together during the Los Angeles Lakers’ pre-season match against the Phoenix Suns.
On Bronny’s 20th birthday, he took the court in the second quarter, though the Lakers fell to the Suns 118-114.
Reflecting on the experience, LeBron expressed his disbelief, describing it as “surreal.”
WOW THAT WAS SURREAL,” LeBron wrote on X following the match.
Speaking to reporters, he added: “We came out of a timeout and we kind of stood next to each other. I kind of looked at him.
“It was like being in The Matrix or something. It just didn’t feel real. But it was great to have those moments.”
LeBron scored 19 points, while Bronny went scoreless in his 13-minute debut.
Bronny, drafted by the Lakers in June from the University of Southern California, joined his father, who signed a new two-year deal with the team.
The 39-year-old is entering his 22nd season in the NBA and is the league’s all-time leading scorer.
The 2024-25 NBA season tips off on October 22.
