Director of communications for President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 election campaign, Festus Keyamo, has denied paying entertainer turned activist, Charly Boy, for support during the polls.

Charly Boy’s former co-convener in the” Our Mumu Don Do Movement, Deji Adeyanju, accused the singer of collecting money from Keyamo to release a song criticising the presidential candidate  of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar.

Adeyanju on Wednesday released an audio recording of Charly Boy allegedly admitting that he was paid by the Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

A video also appeared online showing Charly Boy purportedly admitting that he got paid in nine figures.

Responding in a series of tweets on Friday, Keyamo said it was absurd for anyone to think he would pay for a song that disses both the APC and PDP.

“If the quarrelling parties want to hurt their egos by bandying phantom figures, they should leave me out of it,” he said.
