LAWMA launches manhunt for motorist who threw waste from car
The Lagos State Waste Management Authority has initiated a manhunt for a woman who threw waste from her car window onto the road.
The incident happened at Adeniyi Jones junction inwards Aromire, in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.
The agency in a statement said the woman was driving a yellow car with the number plate FST 670 YF when she committed the offence, and all efforts to make her pick up the waste went futile as she drove off.
LAWMA has asked the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority to stop the woman’s car if they see it.
“All LASTMA officials are hereby notified to flag her car down anywhere she is seen. She will be arrested and prosecuted according to the environmental laws of the state,” the statement added.
LAWMA said that they cannot make the environment cleaner and better if some people continue to throw waste on the road.
The agency asked residents of Lagos State to join hands with the government to keep the environment clean.
