No fewer than five people have been killed following the resurgence of the lassa fever virus in Bauchi State.
The deaths occurred in the 13 cases of the lassa fever virus have been confirmed in the state by the Center for Disease Control in Abuja as at Saturday, 8th February, 2020.
An impeccable source at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, who spoke in confidence while responding to enquiries on Monday said that three other people have also died this year from a yet to be confirmed disease.
This confirmation has falsified the persistent claims by the state government that “nobody has so far died in the state from lassa fever this year.”
