Landlady paid us ₦1m to kill UNIBEN 100 Level student – Suspect

One of the six suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of a 21-year-old student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Miss Uwaila Omozuwa, has said they were paid ₦1m by a landlady, one Mary Ade, to commit the act.The suspect, Collins Uligbe from Agbor in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, was paraded alongside five others – including the landlady – by the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Johnson Kokumo, on Wednesday.Others paraded alongside Uligbe and the landlady are Nelson Ogbebor, Tina Samuel, another lady, Valentine Akato and Nosa Osabohien.WuzupNigeria reports that Uwaila, a 100 level Microbiology student, was killed by some suspected rapists at a church in Benin City, the Edo State capital, where she reportedly went to read on the night sometimes in May.However, during their parade, Uligbe indicted the lady, saying she paid them to kill the young lady for ritual purposes.

Uligbe, who said he attends the same church as the student, said that he was asked by the landlady to wipe Uwaila’s private part with a handkerchief so that she could use it for ritual purposes and prosper in her business.However, the landlady denied the allegation, saying she neither gave him the money nor asked him to wipe the lady’s private part.The CP said the postmortem results confirmed that the said victim was raped before she was murdered.He assured the people of Edo State that the police will leave no stone unturned to unravel the mystery behind the killing.
