Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has hit back at his Liverpool counterpart, Jurgen Klopp, who criticized his side’s spending in the summer transfer window.

Lampard has spent £200 million on players while Klopp only spent £11.75m for left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

However, Lampard believes his spending is justified after his side came from a ban which prevented it from signing players.

He also believes Liverpool which currently holds the English Premier League title has had their big spending days.

Lampard said: “You can go through the Liverpool players — Van Dijk, Alisson, Fabinho, Keita, Mane, Salah.

“Incredible players that came at a very high price. Liverpool have done it over a period of time.

“What we have done is come off the back of a ban and probably try to address the situation to help improve us.”
