Nigerians have lamented the perceived inaccurate composition of the players picked by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on its team of the year.
The players were announced and no Nigerian was listed among the continent’s finest, irrespective of the club they were plying their trades.
While some Nigerians believe it was a well-deserved ‘gift’ to their fellow nationals, they disagreed with CAF over the calibre of players selected in the team.
The best players listed by CAF are as follows:

While Nigerians could not hide their feelings as they made their thoughts known as well:

No Nigerian made CAF’s Africa Best 11.
The only two (Iheanacho & Iwobi) only made the bench list.
