#LagosUnrest: Residents become vigilante’s over incessant robbery in Aboru
As #LagosUnrest continues to trend on Twitter, a user on the platform has narrated how they arrested some suspects with a gun, ladies and children’s slippers in a bus in the Aboru area of the state.
Following President Buhari ordered lockdown owing to Coronavirus outbreak, reports of robbers taking advantage of the situation to loot shops and also rob some households have emerged before the recent hashtag on Twitter.
Newsmen learnt that the reoccurring incident has pushed residents into becoming vigilantes, as they also accused the police of portraying a lackadaisical attitude in curbing the escalated crime rate in the state.
One of the suspects was reportedly with the residents pretending to be one of them.
He was later seen in the company of other accomplices in a bus trying to drive past the residents keeping watch. Upon interrogation and search of the bus, a gun and slippers belonging to unknown people were discovered in the bus.

A minibus sped into Aboru, through Ayo Afolabi road, coming from estate gate, Abesan, Ipaja. The bus was stopped eventually by guys waiting at a junction. Inside the bus were three guys, and in the bus, A GUN WAS FOUND!!!
Funny enough, the guy was standing with us, walking about when we were burning tyres in each junction. We dunno when he left and the next time he was seen was in the mini-bus driving. He was asked where he saw the gun, he said the gun is for his grandfather, he was using it to protect himself.
Also, in the bus, there were so many ladies slippers, children footwears and cutlasses. One of the three guys ran away eventually and the other two guys were held down. We summoned the police and they came immediately to pick them. We are still outside.
