Lagos Unrest: South-West govs, ministers pay sympathy visit to Sanwo-Olu

A number of South-West governors and ministers are in Lagos to sympathise with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the chaos caused by hoodlums in the state.

A number of private and state-owned facilities across the state, including police stations, were plundered and vandalised by hoodlums who hijacked the #EndSARS Protests.

The governors and ministers who met Sanwo-Olu at the government house in Marina include; Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, Rauf Aregbesola the Minister of the Interior.

Also, Babatunde Fashola the Minister of Power and Housing, Olorunmibe Mamowora the Minister of State for Health and Niyi Adebayo the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment were also present.

Others include Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, and Olamilekan Adebite, Minister of Mines and Steel.

The state has recorded a series of vandalism as well as lootings of COVID-19 palliatives hoarded in a warehouse.

This comes after about two weeks of protests against police brutality in the state as well as major cities in the country.

Things turned on Tuesday night when soldiers fired live rounds at #EndSARS protester at the Lekki Toll Gate leaving about 30 persons injured.

Although there have been unconfirmed reports of killings during the attack, Governor Sanwo-Olu has refuted the claims.
