The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one of its personnel for allegedly defiling a 17-year-old girl.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has ordered a comprehensive probe into the allegations.

State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, released a statement addressing the situation.

“We assure Nigerians that the officer in question will face the full extent of police regulations and the law if found culpable,” Hundeyin stated, underlining the seriousness with which the command is treating the accusation.

The Commissioner has given his word that there will be no cover-up, stressing that such actions, if proven true, are in direct violation of the Nigeria Police Force’s code of conduct and professional ethics.

“We are dedicated to ensuring that justice is served, and the officer will be dealt with according to the law if found guilty,” Hundeyin added.
