The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos, Philip Aivoji, has been abducted on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The abduction occurred while Aivoji was returning from a stakeholders meeting in Oyo state, organized by Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke.
The confirmation of Aivoji’s abduction was provided by the State PDP Publicity Secretary, Hon. Hakeem Amode, who expressed concern over the prevailing issue of kidnapping in the country.
Amode issued a statement urging prompt intervention from security agencies and government authorities at all levels to secure the release of the PDP chairman.
“It is disheartening that kidnapping has become a prevalent issue in our country, and the government’s inability to address this menace is deeply concerning,” remarked Amode.
He emphasized the urgent need for decisive actions to tackle the menace of kidnapping, stating, “Aivoji’s abduction was a violent incident, and his current whereabouts or any communication from the abductors remain unknown.”
The statement called upon the governments of Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos States, along with security agencies, to accelerate efforts and ensure Aivoji’s safe return to his family and well-wishers.
“We firmly believe that, with increased efforts from security agencies, Aivoji can be rescued from these criminals, and we call on the public to support initiatives aimed at ending this threat to innocent lives,” said Amode.
