The Zone 2 Police Command has arrested the Managing Director of Leuven Empire Hotel and Suites in Ejigbo, Lagos, identified as Macdonald, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old secondary school student.

The case came to light after the victim’s father, Edozie Christian, a spare parts dealer at Ladipo market, filed a petition to Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mr. Adegoke Fayoade, on January 23.

In a video shared by TVC News, the suspect admitted to the assault but denied ritual allegations. “I swear with my life, that it is only sex that I had with him, that I never used him for any ritual. I swear in the name of my late parents that are in the grave, I swear with my children that I never did anything ritual it was just sex,” Macdonald stated.

Zone 2 Police spokesperson, CSP Umma Ayuba, revealed that the victim was taken to the suspect’s residence at No. 4B, Oshoba Street, Akowonjo-Egbeda, Lagos. “The victim was given a bottle of Lucozade Boost and N5000 cash after the incident,” Ayuba said.

The investigation uncovered additional evidence when a friend of the victim came forward. “This friend confirmed that the suspect had been engaging in unlawful acts with the victim and had also attempted a similar act with him, which he resisted,” Ayuba explained.

In a concerning development, the police discovered that the suspect allegedly threatened five other teenagers with death if they revealed similar incidents at his hotel.

The case faced initial complications when an Investigating Police Officer was found to have tampered with the case file. “The IPO has since been detained and is undergoing disciplinary procedures,” Ayuba confirmed.

The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at Mirabel Medical Centre, and the suspect will face court charges once investigations are complete.
