A young Nigerian man has cried out for help after surviving a serious car accident during an illegal drag race in Eko Atlantic City, Lagos, on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

The crash, which happened around 4:00 PM, left him with severe injuries and a staggering debt of over N400 million for damages.

The accident occurred when two high-performance cars were racing on a major street in the city. Witnesses said one of the cars lost control, collided with another, and crashed into a concrete pole. While no fatalities were reported, the crash caused multiple injuries and significant damage to both vehicles and property.

The driver, identified on Instagram as @Trammania, shared his frightening experience in an emotional post. He wrote, “Yesterday evening 14th of September 2024, I watched my life flash right in front of my eyes. It all happened so fast. Still traumatized. Thought it was all over. Still can’t even believe I’m alive. God really loves me & yesterday confirms all doubts… I’m grateful to still be here. I’ll never forget.”

He described the pain he has been going through since the accident, saying, “Head jammed, back hurts, face bruised. Couldn’t even sleep at night, too much pain. Flashbacks messing up my head already. Hospital bills going crazy.”

Apart from his injuries, the man now faces a huge financial burden due to the damage caused during the race. “Over N400 million in damages. Corvette Stingray 2022 GONE. Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 GONE. Property damage,” he explained, adding, “Won’t lie, I don’t even know where to start from. But I’m glad I’m still here. God got His plans for me.”

He concluded his post by asking for support: “Still hospitalized. I’m going to need all the love & support I could possibly get from the masses.”
