A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to narrate her experience in a community in Ondo State where she had gone to work as a cinematographer.

Oreoluwa Awolowo said she was in the community to cover a festival when violence broke out among the youths who went on a rampage and started flogging guests.

She said the violence was as a result of the refusal of the traditional ruler of the community to participate in the festival because he claimed he had given his life to Christ.

Enraged by the monarch’s decision, the youths went on a rampage, flogged people around and also destroyed the king’s palace.

Awolowo wrote:

“I went to cover a festival in Ondo state, it turned to fight Sha because the king has given his life to Christ and didn’t want to get involved in those festish practices. And the festival involves cane, I was at the back of Hilux when I got whipped, my head just reset.

“The youths were angry, they were destroying the palace, I was in the middle of the commotion, we finally got out of their middle. I lost interest in the work already, where we parked our Hilux for safety, we saw some policemen running to us. They were asking our driver how we escaped. “I lost interest in the work already, where we parked our Hilux for safety, we saw some policemen running to us. They were asking our driver how we escaped.

“Police came to hide inside our Hilux, that was when I knew it was truly finished. Gbas gbos everywhere and this people were hiding. Their boss finally came and they still didn’t want to come out, he mistakenly saw them sha. See, I have lost hope in this country.

“I don suffer for this job too, lmao. I just left one commotion before I actually found myself in this one too. That one I was reciting Psalm 91, I saw death face to face and wasn’t ready to die. My new year thanksgiving is getting accompanied with plenty CAC dance steps.”
