French forward, Alexandre Lacazette, scored a late equaliser to spare Arsenal’s blushes in the dramatic 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.

Palace boss, Patrick Vieira, was denied his second EPL win by his countryman on his emotional return to the north London club for the first time in his managerial career.

The 45-year-old won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups with Arsenal, captaining them through their unbeaten “Invincible” top-flight season in 2003/04.

The Eagles were unsettled early in the game after skipper, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, gave The Gunners the lead after just eight minutes on the pitch.

But the visitors found their rhythm gradually and took control of the game despite going into the break a goal down at the Emirates Stadium.

Palace continued mounting the pressure on Mikel Arteta’s side and they weren’t going to be denied their much-deserved equaliser as Christian Benteke restored parity five minutes after the break.

Vieira’s side were the better side on the night and they kept pushing for the win with more of the possession shifting their way.

Odsonne Edouard netted a 73rd-minute stunner to give Palace the inevitable lead.

Palace looked to be running away with all three points but Lacazette’s dashed their hopes with a stoppage-time equaliser to make it 2-2.

Arsenal moved to 12th on the table with 11 points while Palace stay 14th with eight points after eight matches.
