The Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly, Mr. Yakubu Danladi, has commiserated with the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, over the demise of the Deputy Speaker of Kwara Assembly, Mt Ayodele Shittu.
Danladi’s condolence message was sent through his Media Aide, Sheriff Ibrahim in Ilorin on Sunday.
The speaker similarly commiserated with the entire Offa community and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state over the death of the first deputy speaker.
“The entire 9th Kwara house of assembly grieves over the death of our very senior colleague, Shittu, whom we lost to the cold hands of death at a time when his wise counsel was most needed,” the speaker said.
The speaker lamented that the death of the pioneer deputy Speaker was a loss to the state in view of his wealth of experience as a refined lawmaker, community leader, and shrewd grassroots politician.
Danladi expressed gratitude to God that the late deputy speaker lived a purposeful life worthy of emulation and prayed to God to grant him eternal rest.
The late pioneer speaker represented Ojomu-Balogun constituency in Offa Local Government Area of the state between 1979 and 1983.
He was, until his death, the Chairman of the International Vocational, Technical, and Entrepreneurship College in Ajase-Ipo in lrepodun Local Government Area of the state.
