In a strategic effort to ensure a secure and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr, the Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, fcism, FiCGPA, has sanctioned the deployment of 2,350 operatives across the state.
The personnel are tasked with protecting critical national assets and safeguarding residents throughout the festive period.
The deployment spans all sixteen local government areas of Kwara State, with officers drawn from specialized divisions, including the Armed Squad, Operational Harmony, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Unit.
According to the command, the operation is guided by credible intelligence and thorough threat mapping.
Focus has been placed on high-risk zones, flashpoints, and other sensitive locations to maximize effectiveness and ensure public safety.
To reinforce this initiative, Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have been instructed to maintain intensive patrols, enhance surveillance, and implement proactive response measures within their respective jurisdictions.
Commandant Bodinga emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating that the NSCDC will work closely with other security agencies, local vigilante groups, and community members to guarantee comprehensive coverage, swift response, and uninterrupted safety during the celebrations.
While congratulating Muslim faithful on the completion of Ramadan, he urged residents to stay alert and assist security efforts by reporting any suspicious activities.
He also issued a firm warning to would-be offenders, stressing that the command will “decisively deal with anyone attempting to undermine public peace and order.”
